Acquis Foundation Internship Program
Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT)

American Cancer Society

Since 2010, we have proudly partnered with the American Cancer Society (ACS) to support its vital mission to create meaningful impact on the lives of cancer patients, survivors, and their families.

Together, Acquis and ACS share a vision of a world with less cancer and more birthdays — a mission that holds deep significance for many Acquis colleagues, friends, and family members who have been touched by ACS’s life-changing work.

Throughout 2024, our commitment to this partnership flourished through participation in signature events, including Fit2Be, the annual Golf Outing, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, Hope Lodge Bash, and the Financial Services Cares Gala.

  • Acquis won the ACS step challenge for the third consecutive year
  • 23% of Acquis employees participated in fundraising efforts for Making Strides against Breast Cancer
  • Almost 19 million steps accumulated collectively by Acquis employees
  • More than 75,000 steps recorded by Acquis Founder & CEO David Kaufman, in the one-day CEO challenge

StartCare

Acquis deepened its support of StartCare, a community-focused, Black-founded and BIPOC-operated organization that has been a pioneering force in New York healthcare since 1969. With a specialized focus on addiction recovery, mental health care, and biomedical research, StartCare operates six community-based locations across New York, serving 3,000 to 4,000 participants annually.

  • Packed backpacks for StartCare’s annual back-to-school drive, in support of the children and grandchildren of patients
  • Sponsored StartCare’s 55-Year Gala
  • Donated and fundraised gifts for SartCare’s annual Holiday Toy Drive

Acquis Foundation Internship Program

The Acquis Foundation Internship Program creates paid opportunities for students at nonprofit organizations, offering valuable professional experience while providing these organizations with essential support. By compensating interns — a practice often absent at nonprofits — we enable students to gain meaningful experience without having to choose between career development and financial needs.

In partnership with Metropolitan College of New York and Belmont University, we launched our inaugural intern class in 2024. Beyond funding the program, Acquis provides interns with a dedicated business mentor.

Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT)

Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT) develops high-potential diverse talent for leadership roles at premier organizations. Through its comprehensive career development programs, MLT has cultivated a powerful network of over 10,000 accomplished professionals across all career stages.

In 2024, Acquis deepened its commitment to diversity and inclusion by partnering with MLT’s Experienced Talent Engagement program. Going beyond traditional recruitment, we integrated MLT’s expertise throughout our hiring process—from candidate screening to interview preparation—to strengthen our inclusive hiring practices.

StartCare is incredibly grateful for the generous and ongoing support of the Acquis Foundation. Thanks to our partnership with the Acquis Foundation, we will ensure that our community members are able to fully enjoy the holiday season by providing 700 toys for them to give to their children and grandchildren. Beyond the holidays, Acquis Foundation's grant will support our dedicated mental health professionals as they continue providing much needed care for adolescents and teens as they navigate the challenges of today.

START Treatment and Recovery Centers

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Acquis Foundation for offering undergraduate business students the invaluable opportunity to participate in a paid internship at Metropolitan College of New York. Through this program, students not only gain profound insight into departmental operations but also hone their professional skills in alignment with their academic pursuits. This enriching experience equips students with practical knowledge and real-world applications, fostering their growth as future business leaders.

Michael Goodwin

Director of Employer Relations & Experiential Learning, Metropolitan College of New York

Thanks to Acquis’ partnership with Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Central Park, the American Cancer Society is here to ensure no one has to feel alone on their cancer journey, from detection and diagnosis, through treatment and survivorship, and for some, the end of life. Through generous donors like Acquis the ACS invests in innovative research, works to ensure greater access to quality care, influences public policy, and provides patient support. We are the only organization that integrates advocacy, research, and patient support to measurably improve the lives of people facing cancer and their families.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the Acquis employees and Foundation board members who drove our initiatives in 2024. Their dedication shone through — from fundraising and the Fit2Be step challenge to toy drives, school backpack assemblies, and mentoring programs. Each contribution exemplifies our commitment to strengthening our communities and making a meaningful impact.

Being able to participate in our intern mentorship program and collaborate with the American Cancer Society has given me a profound appreciation for the positive impact Acquis and I can make on the world around us. The dedication we bring to these initiatives demonstrates our shared commitment to creating meaningful change in our communities. Acquis does more than just promise to act—we actually do.
